Permission for a specific custom field

Is it possible to introduce restrictions (permissions) on changing the value of a specific custom field in the project?

Hi @Vladimir Matveev ,

Field level specific permissions don't exist in Jira.

A workaround that you can implement is:

• remove the field from the edit screen
• create a transition which you set that only specific groups/users can do (properties)
• add a transition screen with that "restricted" field on it and attach it to that transition

It's tricky and annoying, and not really a good idea if you have lots of those fields but if it's a one of this could be achieved like this.

I agree, it is possible to do this, but it is not very convenient
