Hi
Im exploring playbooks and curerntly building a few within the Projects I manage.
I was wondering if someone could confirm if its possible to provide a user with the opportunity to add a comment to an issue or work item on each step.
Say I have a line in the playbook that asks to validate the setup of a device firmware can i then somehow prompt the user of the playbook to leave a screen shot and open a comment to do so ?
I've worked out how to automate leaving a comment after a step as automation but id ideally like to to use the step to capture evidence also .
Hi @Alex Kerr
Welcome to the community!
You’re right—while automation can add comments after a playbook step, there’s currently no way to prompt agents to upload screenshots or files directly during a playbook step. The closest workaround is using a manual-trigger automation rule with a prompt for input, which lets agents add notes or comments at each step. For screenshots, they’ll need to attach files to the issue first and then reference them in the comment.
As of now, there isn’t an open feature request for this capability in playbooks. If this feature would help your team, I recommend submitting a request on Atlassian support portal so others can vote and help prioritize it.
