Priority Field Restriction

Hello,

I have an issue in Restricting Priority Field in Jira and only few users should be able to change the priority. How can I do it ? can someone help me here.

Hi @Varun , Welcome to the Community.

OOTB you cannot restrict edit access to a field. Options: remove the field from the view/edit screen, or consider an add-on. One such app would be Scriptrunner (Behaviors) but there are others. You might also search the Community to find other recommended solutions.

That is not possible. For workaround, I suggest you to create a self reflecting transition (loop in status) in where status (add loop in all status if needed) can priority field updated. Add a transition screen with priority field in that self reflection transition and add condition - e.i user in any group. Then remove the priority field in edit screen (disable user to edit the priority field in issue view). So all user in that group can see the transition (loop) where they can edit the priority field.

I have a similar question. Can I adjust the available options for urgency and impact for users? I only want them to be able to selece medium/ low and moderate/minor. If any escalation needed the agents can adjust urgency and impact but I would like to avoid that being done by users.
