Asset type field cannot be set read only

Asset type field cannot be set read only by this method "getFieldByName("Approval Members").setReadOnly(true)"

Field "Approval Members" is an asset type filed.

Answer accepted

Remove the field from the edit screen and keep it in the view screen only. This should help you.
