I am working in Jira/JSD Data Center v9.12.x
(I know the Deployment tag on my post saying "Cloud". My community account is not associated to the DC instance on which I'm working, so I couldn't pick a DC product.)
I am working on converting data stored in issues to objects in a new (to be created) Asset Schema.
The issue data includes a Select List custom field. This same custom field is used with a global context in multiple projects and issue types.
I need to have a comparable attribute in the Object, and have not discovered a way to simply reuse the custom field as an asset object attribute. Is there a way to do that?
Assuming there is not, I am concerned about ensuring that the list of options for the attribute stays in synch with the list of options in the custom field used by issues. I'm hoping to avoid relying on manually maintaining the options in two places.
Any suggestions?
Hi
custom asset fields are configured as such from inception. You cannot "reconfigure" a jira custom field into a Asset field.
Now having your jira field related to your asset field would require scripting toward the api. Also Asset list fields are not easily searchable at this time.
