We are having issues trying to get due date in automations to successfully autofill dates. The autofill for dates work for a parent ticket but does not work for a child ticket (sub-ticket). We have gone through many questions here but have not found any successful solutions.
It sounds like one of two issues to me.
Potentially you haven't selected the Issue Type in your automation when creating a new issue before editing the Due Date field.
I would also check the context of your Custom Field. Potentially you haven't selected that Issue Type to be available for that custom field.
