I am attempting to distribute software (executable files) to our customers.
Does Jira Service Management have the ability to host files (upwards of 300MB) as a distribution mechanism for our customers? Is there another service that Atlassian offers that can achieve this? Or will I need to find another mechanism for distributing software?
@Chris Bakkom if you are trying to create a page that they could just go to and download the app you would need Confluence and create a knowledge base article that you could attach it to. Confluence by default is limited to 100MB this can be changed https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/configure-attachment-size/
If you want to make that article really easy to find then you could use refined app to change up your portal.
You could always distribute as an attachment on a request. Jira allows for up to 1gig by default on its attachments.
Hi Chris,
That's an interesting use case. You could probably attach a file or zip file, or if you want to do it a bit more automagically you could set up an automation rule to add a comment with a link to a file in Dropbox etc if it meets certain criteria.
E.g.
On Create, if an issue is of issuetype "Request Software" and the single select option of "Application A" is selected, then add a comment with Https://dropboxlink-to-applicationA-file.com
Would that do it?
