We are currently using Jira for asset management and for service/help desk management. Now we would like to establish a regular patch management schedule for all of our Windows and Mac devices as well as software patching. Can Jira do this right now?
Hi @Kita Bailey ,
Jira doesn't have native functionalities to directly schedule or execute patch management tasks on Windows or Mac devices. However, you can integrate Jira with dedicated patch management tools or systems that handle patch deployment, compliance, and monitoring or establish processes within Jira to manage and track patch management schedules and tasks.
This integration may allows you to create issues in Jira based on patch statuses or trigger actions in the patch management tool based on Jira issue updates.

Bhushan
Hi Bhushan,
Thank you very much for your helpful reply. There are so many options for dedicated patch management systems (we currently are using Atera), but I would like to know if there is a specific tool that Atlassian recommends for the best or most seamless integration with Jira? The reason I ask this question is because we had Atera first before we purchased Jira, but now our ticket system, assets, and knowledge base is all done in Jira, and Atera is only being used for patching. This causes us to have to still have to manually enter our assets in both systems, and we would like to find a more efficient way to handle patch management of all our devices.
