Change how a status is categorized

Hello, 

I face an issue, when i put a ticket in the status Planned / to do or scoped it is considered as in progress whereas i would like it to be considered as NOT started. 

 

I did not find in your documentation any way to configure this ? can you please let me know how this is doable?

Hi @ofremont, welcome to the community!

You can configure the statuses and what category they belong in the 'Issues' settings of your Jira. See the example below:

Hi @ofremont  - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

All statuses fall into one of 3 categories - To Do (gray), In Progress (blue), or Done (green). You cannot change these categories, nor can you change the color. 

If you have an existing status that falls into a category that is different than what you desire, you can modify the status to change the category, BUT that will change it for all workflows!! So do not do that unless you are sure that all existing workflows will be fine with the change. 

Otherwise, you need to create a new status - but be sure to use a different name - and place it in the desired category.
