Clocktimer Free Version - Time Tracking Not Rolling Up from Story to Epic

Eduardo Lima Boucault August 20, 2025

Hi everyone,

I'm using the free version of Clocktimer and trying to configure it for time tracking across my Jira projects. My structure typically involves Epics containing Historieprint3.jpgprint2.jpgprint1.jpgs, which in turn contain Subtasks.

During testing, I noticed that:

  • When I log time on Subtasks, it correctly rolls up to the Histories level.
  • However, when I log time directly on Stories, it does not roll up to the parent Epic.

I've tried multiple configurations and setups, but I couldn't find a way to make the time tracked on Stories reflect automatically in the Epic.

Another observation: the Original Estimate value that Clocktimer uses for time tracking does not match the value shown in Jira's native Original Estimate field. This discrepancy is causing confusion when trying to manage and report time accurately.

Is this a limitation of the free version of Clocktimer, or is there a configuration I'm missing?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi @Eduardo Lima Boucault

My name is Gracjan from HeroCoders, the team behind the Clockwork app.

The time tracking field you are reviewing is from Atlassian. It's not the Clockwork interface, at least not from what I see in the provided screenshots.

You must've hidden the Clockwork interface in your settings. In Clockwork, you should be able to find accumulated time for Stories and Subtasks. This data can also be shown on Jira Timesheets reports

If you click on the gear button visible under Summary, do you see Clockwork?

We can join on a short call to review this. If that's sounds interesting to you, you can schedule a call here.

Cheers,

Gracjan

@Eduardo Lima Boucault -

It seems that Clocktimer is a third party add-on, you will need to contact the vendor for further support on your ask.  The odd thing is that I don't see any apps named "Clocktimer" in the Markeplace UI.

Where did you obtained this free version?

Best, Joseph Chung Yin

My bad, the right name is Clockwork Free version.
