Hi,
I am aware there is a default gadget for 'Created Vs. Resolved issues' but we do not use the Resolved status. So my requirement is to have a similar graph with the resolved status replaced by Closed. Can someone help me with the possible solution to this?
The key thing with JSM/Jira is the "Resolution" value, when this field is populated (typically when an issue is moved into a terminal final WF status), then it is considered "Resolved".
So, as long as this field is properly populated, then the reports will work as expected.
Hope this helps.

Statuses can have three categories.
Grey colored statuses are "ToDo" statuses
Blue colored statuses are "In Progress" statuses
Green colored statuses are "Resolved" statuses
The report shows everything that is Resolved (green)

Hey Sreenadh,
According to JIRA, the status doesnt matter for created vs resolved gadget . An issue is consider as resolved if the resolution field is set with any value and not empty.

On my system, both 'Closed' and 'Resolved' both have their categories as 'Done'. I'm looking at the 'Settings<gear> / Issues / Statues' and clicking on 'Edit' of each status to see the category. To me that implies that if you used 'Closed', 'Resolved' or something custom as long as they belong to the same Issue Category of 'Done' they should turn up there. On my system in Reports, I have a 'Created vs Resolved' report that I could edit the label so instead of 'Resolved' it says 'Done' or something else.
I would figure the gadget works the same way as the report. You could easily check the report to know for sure.
