Creating buttons that can be used to handle a transition status (Next-Gen)

Luigi Caso May 11, 2020

On the Classic Service Desk it's possible to define buttons on a Request Type screen (e.g. Incident) to handle a transition from one status to the next one (in the related workflow) in a little bit more "sophisticated" way. As an example, I could use a button to handle a "close issue" transition, changing the issue status to CLOSED and, at the same time, allowing the agent to write one last  comment on that issue.

I cannot find something similar in the settings of a Next-Gen project; is it not actually possible?

Thank you.

Not possible in Next Gen. Think of a next gen project as a simplified project where user can straightaway jump to their task without the complex configuration. It's a basically a simple project where you don't have the schemes like Screen scheme, Field scheme, workflow scheme, even permission scheme. Bottom line, if you like to have that, it's a classic project, you're looking for.

Hope that explains!
