We're new to JSM, and still building/ testing it out. I noticed issues that were deleted in JSM are still visible as open in the customer portal.
Is there a way for us to make sure that deleted issues are no longer visible under the customer portal?
Nevermind, i figured out where i was going wrong.

Welcome to the community. In Jira/JSM, once the issues are deleted, it is gone for good and it will not be visible anywhere.
If you are still seeing the issues in the portal UI, you should also be able to see them in your JSM project UI. Those issues are definitely not deleted. Please check again.
Based on your findings, if the issues are not visible in the project UI or via JQL search results - but they are still visible in the portal UI, then I would recommend you to contact Atlassian Support Team (https://support.atlassian.com) for further assistance as needed.
