I would like OpsGenie alerts and incidents to tag devices within Jira Insights. Is that possible?

Hi Ben,

Where I would see this working is

  • Alert triggered that includes device/host name
  • Once the alert hits Opsgenie it is scrapped for device/hostname and placed into a field attached to the alert
  • If alert is transition to an inc this would also include the device field. "Affected Devices"
  • Insights pulls device details that can be mapped to services within Opsgenie
  • Insights will collect alert, inc history, and service updates, along with ITSM tickets against device history.

Old thread, but @Benjamin Paton is the above flow any closer to becoming a realize (we are trying to set up an operational workflow, from OpsGenie <->JSM  <->Insite/Assets and this is pretty much what we would like to do.  I realize Alerts are not currently linkable for services, but this seems like it is the key to unlock this puzzle.

Hey there,

Not yet. But we would love to hear how you would see this working.

Cheers,

Ben.

I know this is old, but that's exactly what I would like to do.

You already have an interface between JSM and OpsGenie and in JSM you have dedicated Jira Asset Field as Custom Fields. Can this be the source of transfer to OpsGenie? @Benjamin Paton
