Exporting assets from sandbox to live environment - easy way ?

David Cea June 8, 2023

Hi Jira users,

I am tasked with setting up Jira assets to reflect our setup with servers, applications running on those servers, services connected, Databases etc etc.

I am testing it out on a sandbox environment, and before I sink more hours into this, I figured I would try to export what I have now, so I can test the import function.

How do you export Asset data ?

Export scheme and then import it in production environment. But it's not native :(

Only with external app:

Dumb question, but how is JIra users then actually supposed to go live with stuff like this ?

I want to test things out, and then roll out when done.

This seems like something that should be natively supported

It's Cloud "feature", which is still not implemented.

DC Jira can export/import schemes without such tricks.

Just to sum-up for others reading this: there are traces of information indicating that this should be possible...but its not, as of jun 12 23

You can export asset objects separately - but not asset schemas.

Good luck.
