I wanted to use Team Board to get updates from the tickets that the developers have worked on for each day. And also be able to see the history of the tickets they have worked on.

Hi @Stella Mariz R_ Calleja, welcome to the community!

I’m Annie from the TeamBoard team, and I’m happy to help with any questions you have.

1. How to Use TeamBoard to Get Daily Updates on Tickets:

  • Schedule Board & Calendar View: Check out our Schedule Board or Calendar view to see what your team is working on each day. Developers can log their time on tickets, making it easy to track progress in real time.

Screenshot 2024-08-21 at 13.41.40.png

  • Real-time Reports: TeamBoard can be configured to generate daily/weekly reports to compare scheduled/spent time, showing which tickets were worked on by each developer.

2. See the history of the tickets:

  • Planning History Log: You can use this feature to track all changes made to your project schedule, so you can easily review what’s been done.

Planning History - Changes Log.gif

  • Timeline or Gantt View: For a visual overview, the timeline or Gantt chart views show you how tickets have progressed over time.

I hope this may help!

Hi @Stella Mariz R_ Calleja

Welcome to the community! As @Nikola Perisic suggested you can use one of the available marketplace apps for your use-case with the time tracking.

If you want to display a widget on the dashboard that allows you to see how much time the specific user worked/logged on their tickets during today's date you can consider Worklogs - Time Tracking and Time Reports.

For example, here on my dashboard I'm displaying the specific user and I can see all time logged into tickets from today's date by this user.

The widget can be easily customized if there's a need and you can display various filters:

If you have any questions regarding the app feel free to contact us here, or book a demo session here.

Kind regards,

Welcome to the community @Stella Mariz R_ Calleja !

Creating a dashboard would be the best option for you. You can choose between various gadgets:

  • Pie Chart - visually represent the data based on both statistic type (in your case this would be the assignee, since you are looking for each developer) and filter or project - you can choose the refresh this data every 15 minutes
  • Workload Chart - you can specify the total amount of time that each developer has spent on their tasks
  • Activity Stream - more suitable for you to see all of the changes that were made within Jira - created tickets, changed statuses, created comments
  • Filter Results - you can specify multiple filters with different statuses (depending on which are the ones that you want to focus on) to have even more overview of the issues

To see the history of the issues that the developers have worked on you can create a filter where you will specify the project and also an assignee which is going to be that developer. If you want this to be represented in the numerical format, you can use Filter count gadget where you can make your own custom count format and add assignees - you can add more than one developers.

Thank you @Nikola Perisic !

Is there a way to get all of this information in using just one view or one gadget?

Hi @Stella Mariz R_ Calleja

Not quite, but you organize them based on your priorities.

When we try to filter the tickets to how how much time each developer has spent on the tickets, the Time Spent shows how much time they worked on it since the ticket is created. What we want to see is how much time they spent on the ticket for today's date only. So that we can see their 8-hour workflow for each day.

Is it possible to show the time spent on each ticket for today only?

For that use case, you would need to use some of the apps from the marketplace. The best choice is Tempo, but this is a paid version of the app. You can try Quantify TimeSpent and Worklogs Time Tracking & Timesheets and see if this matches your use case. These ones were from the native Jira functionalities.

Thank you @Nikola Perisic I will be researching about these apps to know which best would fit to the view that we want to create.

Hello @Stella Mariz R_ Calleja Thank you for reaching out on the Atlassian Community!

I would agree with @Nikola Perisic that the Gadgets offered out of the box would be the best options for Reporting within Jira.

Otherwise, as you have noticed, we have many Marketplace Vendors with great solutions to help meet you needs!

@Stella Mariz R_ Calleja

Welcome to the Community!

Clockwork Free or Pro can provide you with this report.

You can get a report of the issues developers worked on for a day or previous days when they use automatic timers.

With automatic timers, when a developer works on an issue and transitions it to an active status like in-progress, time begins to count for that issue. When work on the issue is concluded, and they set the status to Done, the timers stop.

You can get a report of these issues using the timesheet by searching for a range of periods, e.g., 7 days, filtering by a single Developer or a Team. The report is as below:

Alongside this feature, Clockwork provides you with a lot more other features.

I will be happy to give you a tour of the App, please reach out here.

Hello @Stella Mariz R_ Calleja ,

Welcome to the community!

If you want to track your developers activity in Jira and measure how much time each developer or a whole team spent time on each status or on total issue , my recommendation is Timepiece - Time in Status for Jira app. It is the oldest and leading Time in Status app in Atlassian Marketplace, which is built by my team at OBSS. It is available for both Jira Cloud, and Data Center.

Timepiece mainly allows you to see how much time each issue spent on each status and on each assignee/group/team

Timepiece offers two report types for your case:

The first one is Assignee Duration per Status report  which shows how much time each assignee spent on each Status.

Report Types Assignee Duration per Status.png

The second one is Group Duration per Status report which shows how much time each Group/Team spent on each Status.

Report Types Group Duration per status.png

For both of the reports you can combine the time for multiple statuses to obtain metrics according to your specifications, such as Cycle Time, Time for Code Review and QA Cycle, etc. Also, you can calculate averages and sums of those durations grouped by the issue fields you select. All these options can provide both calculated data tables and charts.

Assignee Duration per average cycle time chart.png

Visit Timepiece - Time in Status for Jira to explore how our JIRA add-on can revolutionize your metrics measurement process. Enjoy a 30-day free trial to experience the full range of features.

If you wish, you can also schedule a live demo. We will provide a comprehensive overview of the application and address any inquiries you may have.

Hope it helps,

Gizem

Hi @Stella Mariz R_ Calleja   👋
Welcome to the Community!

If you consider installing third-party add-ons, option for you can be Time In Status. You can get various real time reports with add-on. Get updates from the tickets that the developers have worked on for each day in a few clicks. For this just:

  1. Choose Project, Assignee, Sprint etc.
  2. Filter issues by Time Ranges
  3. Enjoy you report!

Знімок екрана 2024-08-20 о 17.30.59.png

2. Also the Assignee time report cam be useful for you. This report will notify you of how much time each Assignee spent on each task.

2024-05-30_12-03-43.png

3. Also you can see how long a task was in progress on each Assignee or how long it was Unassigned as a Gadget.

4. For more in-dept analysing try out Pivot view table. We can evaluate how much the time in the In Progress status has changed depending on the number of tasks, and we can also “dive deeper” and see which tasks have spent a lot of time.

You can also book a live demo - we'll show you the application inside out and answer all your questions.

Add-on have 30-day free trial and free up to the 10 users.

I hope you find this helpful 🚀
