How can we search custom field. Can we add search on custom fileld to default search?

Case: 

We defined few custom filed which are listed on screen. We would like to use default search to search also on this fileds. 

Example: 

ID (custom filed) with vaule 77000111 

We would like to input in search 00011 and system wil filter to this value. 

Is It possible, How?

Hi,

When you switch from basic to JQL you can query on custom fields, like "

"ID" = "77000111" OR "ID" is EMPTY  

But in a basic search I'm not sure you can ...
