How do I add : Include Approval step to a transition in a worflow

I am trying to add approvers for one of the transitions in the workflow, but if, in one project I have it set and I see Approval step (option to add it) to the transition in the current project I don't have such an option. How do I set approvers in this case?

Also, all the rest of the project transitions don't need approvers and only this transition under specific condition would need it, How do it set it?

Under a certain condition meaning that , in our case, when procurement type is 1 and when procurement type is 2 , no need for approvers although it is the same transition.

Hi @Vera Valshonok 👋

You may want to look into Approval Path for Jira.
You can start approval upon issue transition.

Hello @Vera Valshonok

For the project where you don't see the option in the workflow, is that project a Service Management project or perhaps a Software project? The project type will show below the project name in the panel on the left when you are viewing the project, or you can see the project type in the "View all projects" page under the Projects menu.

If you are trying to follow the instructions in the following page, those apply only to Jira Service Management projects.

If you want to add an Approval step to a workflow used in a Software project refer to this information:

Are you working with a Team Managed project or a Company Managed project? That information also shows on the "View all projects" page, and at the bottom of the expand/collapse panel on the left when you are viewing the project.

If you are working with a Company Managed project then the article from the first link applies.

https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/add-an-approval-to-a-workflow/

If you are working with a Team Managed project then the documentation for the process is here.

https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/how-are-approvals-used-in-team-managed-projects/

If you are not able to complete the steps, please tell us at which step in which document you are blocked.

Thanks! I've managed to set approvers. I work with service management project, meaning company managed? When I go to projects, I see that some projects are Team - managed business, some are team- managed service management and some are service management once.

If the Type on the "View all projects" page says only "Service Management" then it is a Company Managed Service Management project.

If the Type on the "View all projects" page says only "Team-managed Service Management" then it is a Team Managed Service Management project.
