How to create subcategories in Jira Service Desk portal categories

We are planning to create a subcategory in the portal

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

Presently, it’s only possible to organize the request types in Groups/category. I understand that you would like to add a sub-group/subcategories to better organize the request types, but there is no option for that at the moment.

There is a feature request suggesting the implementation of such ability - Add ability to organise request types in sub group
