Hi everybody.
We are using Discovery for our network devices detection, we already import all of our object into a object schema that works, but theres a problem.
We have 2 Insight Discovery imports schedule, 1 of them is for a half of our netwrok devices (Will call it Import #1), and the other one is for the another half (Import #2). Everything works find when Import #1 is syncronized, but when import #2 syncronize every network devices on import #1 will change status to "Not Found". This make sense due how the import works, but we dont know how to keep that objects with the status intact because they will update when import #1 is sincronize, and the same for import #2.
Also we have setup 2 different directories for each import type
Anyone with experience of this issue?
Hi Juan,
This is happening because by default, the import updates the status from all of your objects since the import 2 does not have information about the network devices within import 1.
In order to fix this, you need to configure your Insight Import: Look for "Host" object, configure it, change the field "Missing Objects" from "Update" to "Ignore".
The next time you import your files, the status of your hosts won't be changed.
Thank you! and this actually resolved the issue as explained above.
The only downside is whenever the Import 1 occurs again because is automated, it will created another object of the same device just changing the status for example running to rejected. This happen when discovery detected as rejected, but this solution will not work with us.
We need to keep updated our devices, and solo we dont want they changing state to "Not Found", when antoher import ocurs.
Theres something i still missing here?

Hi Juan,
You mean, when you run your import 1 again, it duplicates an existing device?
For example:
You have two hosts:
"Hostname" - "Running"
"Hostname" - "Rejected"
If that's the case, maybe you want to change Host object attributes, and configure the field "Name" as Unique. That way, Insight won't import hosts with the same name.

Thanks for the tip. I will check on that, and reply after test it.

Hi Juan,
Are you using Cloud or Data Center edition? Asking as it seems automatic, scheduled import is still not available for Cloud edition(https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Service-Management/Insight-Cloud-import-objects-automatically/qaq-p/1653294).
Thanks
