Hello, this seems absurdly silly.
We are using Jira Service Management Cloud.
On a JSM ticket, an attachment was uploaded to the Issue but not attached directly to a comment.
At a later point in time, we want to insert that existing attachment into a new comment, but there's no way to do that.
The "Files & images" button in the New Jira Issue View only opens a browser file upload prompt, it doesn't offer a way to pick one of the existing Attachments on the Issue.
Is this by design?
Hi at the moment yes this is by design. However the team are working on adding the ability to reference existing attachments: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-72208
That is an unfortunate feature deprecation in the New Issue View. Thank you for providing the answer. I look forward to seeing this implemented soon.

Any ideas, if and when this option will be translated?
Even if I switch my settings to german, the option is still called "Attachments on this request".
No great customer experience.

The workaround you can do is to view the issue in the "old view" and then you can add the link to the attached file.
