Insight Import Configuration - Object References

Kirk Shultz April 4, 2022

Good day!

Currently, I have a handful of imports in an Insight DB. These imports are metadata that compliment a large personnel roster. This roster is a csv that contains information about each employee. About half of the cells link up and become Object References when the roster is imported.

I am currently stuck on trying to link up supervisor names, as the naming scheme is not identical. For example:

Employee: SHULTZ, KIRK  <-- uses a comma

Supervisor: SMITH JOHN <-- does not use a comma

I want to be able to have SMITH JOHN become a supervisor reference, so when I open the Object Graph after importing, the two entries will be linked together.

The issue is, the supervisor names throughout the personnel csv file are all "LAST FIRST"

The employee names are all "LAST[COMMA] FIRST".

Is there a way when I'm linking these in the Import Configuration Object Mapping (IQL) to use a wild card? So if the last name matches up, it won't need the rest?

Thanks!

You could filter the data using a regexp for the Employee attribute. Edit the object mapping configuration for that attribute and do something of the following:
