We've successfully setup MS Teams Chat for Incidents, but it doesn't appear to be working for Tasks. Just wondering if it is possible.
Logically, it should work when you opening the jira form in Teams. There should be a drop down menu to select issue type you want to create. Although, I could be dependent on the app integration you are using. It seem like your setup is just mapped to incident type.
IF you are using an app like 365 of Jira, you should be able to see the drop down from the forms to select the issue type.

Britta from yasoon here, we're developing the integration Microsoft 365 for Jira.
It's possible to create all work item types (former issue types) coming from Microsoft Teams. You can also raise support tickets from Microsoft Teams and let customers select the relevant work item type.
