I found documentation that describes how to automate Jira Assets imports and, while it works, it's just re-uploading the same file over and over again.
Manually replacing/updating the file imported the changes that had been made, and saved, to the file since the last import. However, if I have to go in and re-upload the CSV file manually, I can also just click the "Import Data" button a second later, and that defeats the purpose of the automated import. I feel like there has to be a way to automate assets imports of new/addition information (without a third-party marketplace app purchase) otherwise the automation is useless.
What I want is to be able to work outside of assets, in excel, and add information that will then be automatically imported into my schema at regular intervals. Is this possible?
I am trying to do a very similar thing, but I can't seem to find the file on the server that I Upload in the CSV Import. In the GUI it lists the file, but I want to "refresh" the file externally, like you are doing with Excel, and then let the import update the Objects.
I am using Jira Data Center, and even a search on the filesystem for the filename returns nothing. Anybody have a clue where these files are saved on the server?
