Hello,
I have activated time tracking after almost every transition in my screen mask. So when I change the status, a screen opens and you are supposed to enter the time you have used there. However, there are now only two fields in the screen: “Original Estimate” and “Remaining Estimate”. Is there any way to change the fields so that people can enter the time they have used and not have to estimate it first?
Hi @Antonia,
I just tested this on my side and was able to get the “Time Spent” field to appear directly on the transition screen — see the screenshot below 👇
To achieve this, I simply edited the screen used by the transition as @Marc - Devoteam just suggested and added the “Log Work” system field to it.
Could you check if that gives you what you were looking for?
Let me know if it behaves differently in your setup!
Hi @Antonia
On the screen used on the transition you need to set the field "Log Work".

Hello @Antonia
Natively, in Jira, there isn't a time value custom field. You would need to install a third party app such as Jira Misc Custom Fields and to create a scripted number field, since it is the closest field to the use case and also to generate JavaScript code that will actually do the calculation based on each transition. When the user is transitioning the issue to a new status, the previous time needs to be incremented with the new value.
Also, another article based on your use case could be found here: https://community.atlassian.com/forums/Jira-questions/Can-we-create-Time-tracking-custom-fields-in-JIRA/qaq-p/2212645
