Is there a way to include Tab Group inside Excerpt macro?
If I am not wrong, Excerpt macro can only include table and texts but not Tab Group.
It will be nice to be able to include Tab Group.
Hello @James Park ,
The reason that Tab Group cannot be nested in MultiExcerpt is because both are 3rd party Confluence Connect macros and Confluence does not support nesting of Connect macros (in pages that use the "new" page editor).
We have a Knowledge Base article about it here: Connect Macros Cannot be Nested ini Connect Macros . It appears that article may be out of date because today I can nest a "Tab Group" macro in a "MultiExcerpt" macro if (and only if) I use a legacy page. In a new/fabric page the page editor bounces the nested macro out of the body of the parent macro and puts it directly on the page outside of the intended parent macro.
There are many limitations in Cloud that exist only for the "new/fabric" page editor so if you run into an odd limitation then it is a good idea to check the behavior in legacy pages to see if the same problem exists there.
That said, this is a limitation of the platform and we 3rd party app developers can't change it. However, it is probably good for Atlassian to hear about these limitations from customers. This limitation may not have existed if Atlassian was using Connect for their own macros. Encourage them to do so.
Hi
You can try to implement a workaround. You can create multiple tabs groups with CFM4C Tabs, then use the includes page macro to show that tabs group in the excerpt macro.
I think this could provide the solution they are looking for. Let me know the result if you try this. This app is developed by my team.
