I have been asked if it is possible that Jira Automation could be used, so that when a user is tagged in a request (Not necessarily the Assignee/Reporter). If this could then also be forwarded to a specific mailbox to be picked up in absences.
I do understand that this may not be best practice for how Jira should be used, but looking to solve a current issue at the time and wondering if it is possible to use Automation to achieve this on a short term basis. I know this is possible when changing assignee etc. But cannot see how it is possible on a comment.
Any help, even to confirm my initial thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for but I have this automation to add tagged users on comments as a request participants (request participants get notification when added) & maybe you can modify this to send a personalized email.
