JWT Parser expression wont set text field despite successful tests.

Hello, I'm working on setting up a JWT set field rule that uses a parser regex expression to pull a value from issue.description and set a custom text field the pulled value on issue create. When using the test expression feature while creating the rule the test successfully pulls the value but when creating test issues the rule is not working? The custom field just stays empty when I create test issues that should trigger this rule. And after they don't trigger the rule, the Test expression returns the values. Would appreciate some insight, thanks!
