Jira Database changeover

Dear JIRA Support,

At the moment we have JIRA setup with both application and Database in one VM. We wish to separate our Application and Database to different VM and also change our database from SQL to POSTGRESQL.

We would like to know if this changeover is possible, if so do you have any guide available which can help us in this changeover.

Yes migrating Jira from one database to another is possible, the method you would chose depends on the size of your current database,

N.B: Make sure you understand how the attachment storage work so you wouldn't lose them in case you reinstall Jira on a different machine.
