Hi all,
I am running into process issues with what I am trying to achieve and cannot determine if it is possible or not either with Jira Forms or through the App marketplace. I have added several app marketplace apps to try functionality and have yet to find a solution.
Process:
When a particular issue reaches an approval stage, a form is added to the issue and is set to external (for Reporter of ticket). - This is already set up and straight forward, no issues here
First issue I am running into: In the form, I would like to have specific information from the issue like the Issue Key, Issue Title, and Issue Summary as Read-Only in a heading of sorts just for documentation (Using Smart Values).
Then the reporter would answer specific questions regarding whether the solution "rough draft" is suitable to their needs. - Already set up with conditional logic and not an issue
Second issue I am running into: The "rough draft" I am having them review is in reference to a data report that is produced. I have added the ability to embed the data report in the issue for reference, but that is on the internal side. I know it may be asking too much to get that embed to show in the customer portal view, so if it can, great, but if not, no big deal. I do however need the ability to add a link to the data report in the form that the user can follow to review in order to answer the specific questions. My issue lies in the link capabilities.
The frustration here is that Jira Forms seems to solely built out for ticket creation in JSM and built so that all data in a form is customer entered and, in the situations, where I can type in information, there is no dynamic capabilities. Sometimes forms need to have additional information for documentation and reference but not entered by a customer.
I have researched for weeks now and tried several add-ons from the app marketplace, but those options tend to get me some options that Jira Forms does not have, but lack in other areas. At this point I wanted to ask all of you whether currently what I am trying to do is even possible within the current Jira landscape. Any help or guidance is appreciated.
Hi Brandon - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
I don't know that you will be able to do that because the Reporter will not have permissions to update the fields on the issue once the issue is created.
