I am trying to setup our Jira service desk portal to accept requests from anyone without the requirement to login. I have set up the Global Jira Customer Permissions to the following:
1. Can customers create their own accounts?
- Yes by signing up or sending request
2. Can customers access and send requests from the help center without logging in?
- Yes
And I have set the Service Desk Project Customer Permissions to the following:
1. Who can access the portal and send requests to IT Help Requests?
- Anyone can send a request without logging in
2. Who can customers share requests with?
- Any customer or organization, by searching this project. This option allows them to search all customers in the current project.
At this point, I'm under the impression that anyone should be able to navigate to our portal and submit a request without logging in, however when I sign out and navigate to our portal, it asks for an email address (which is okay for tracking purposes), but then it asks for an atlassian password to proceed, which shouldn't be the case.
Has anyone had success making this login free portal work? Or do I need to go the route of using gsuite to create accounts for all of our staff as customers even though they will never use other atlasssian/jira products.
Thanks, this is the exact blog I followed to set it up. I did however just try a longer link to the portals than was provided such as https://xxxxx.atlassian.net. I included the "servicedesk" as part of the url and it worked out. So navigating to https://xxxxx.atlassian.net/servicedesk got me around the login screen associated.
