Has anyone creatively found a way to add a manger to user accounts?
I would like to first add a manager to all the employees, then key into that for my workflow that If a request came in, an approval request would be sent to the manager and then IT.
I can see having additional manager fields like Dept Manager could be useful on larger purchases or project requests.
Hi @Daniel Monighetti ,
We are also using Insight for this, with an objectType user, one of the attribute being "Supervisor" and other attributes present in our AD.
I would considering using Insight (Asset) for that matter, rather than doing anything else. Of course Insight is part of JSM on premium plan.. :/

Yeah, that is a bit over budget for me to use the premium plan. Many other Ticket system tools I've used included that functionality in the lessor plans. I was hoping there was a good work around that someone successfully did.

@Daniel Monighetti I'm not going to argue about what choices companies make for their plan of products. They are trying to be competitive and it's totally understandable. Where this company excel (I mean in features provided in different plans) it lacks on other functionalities. And that's de facto :) Jira is no exception to this rule: It gives for free almost all features and apps (!!!) for less than 10 users, but you can't adjust permissions (which is a basic core functionality).
