Asset Import Identifier other than Label?

Hi all,

We are trialing JSM Premium to get a feel for Asset and I have a question about importing.

Right now, when I do an import and set up a mapping, it appears that it always adds my field identified as the Label.

I can add another field and set it to the Identifier, but won't let me delete that initial mapping for the label. 

The field I choose for Label (aka display to my end users) isn't always going to be the best identifier (like for Employees where many people can share a name).

Am I thinking about this incorrectly? Am I always going to have to include the label field if I'm exporting data from another system to import into Assets?

Have you found an answer or solution to your request from February 2023? I am facing the same challenge and am looking for a solution.

OK, just minutes after I found a solution. Go to the custom field set carries the object. There, edit the "Filter objects with attributes" attributes. Add another attribute, then remove the label. 

Doesn't solve it. If you take the above approach, the field will still show the label field once the user selected an object from the drop down search.
