Hi there,
I thought I had a clever little onboarding setup in place. A couple of insight drop down boxes (hardware, software, accessories). Each of them is multiselect so someone can choose a laptop, monitor, mouse, multiple types of software and such and then when approved individual linked issues are created for purchasing.
BUT, what happens when someone needs to select two of the same item.
i.e. I need two 27" HP monitors for the laptop and when I pick the monitor from the list I can't pick it again.
Is there anyway at all to achieve this.
The dropdowns are powered by objecttypes for 'Supported<Name of asset> So there is only one of each item as objects in the supported object types.... but I need to select the same one twice in some issues.
Hope this can be achieved.
Interesting use-case but as @Mikael Sandberg says not possible right now.
I think you're better of just creating a 2x 27" Monitor "shopping cart item"
@Dirk Ronsmans are you thinking to have a 'supported item' within the Monitor objectType in insight as the '2 x 27 Monitor' item that is selectable

Hi @Ste404 ,
Indeed, that's my idea. Although if you use that "Monitor" objecttype for other stuff it might be easier to branch out and create a new object type for your portal view. You could build packages for them to request like that.
This way you could create like a shopping cart selection (maybe even in a different schema)
By keeping them as generic as possible and then later using your "real" CMDB to link specific items with a proper serial number to a user you can easily split up the requested item with the real item they get.

ah yes that is a good idea.. I have the Supported Monitors as a objectType with all the actual single monitors used. I could have another objectType or whole schema for 'Monitor Bundles' and other shopping specific and then just add that into the IN("......") clause for the insight field so they are part of the selectable items but then as you said when I need to just refer to the monitors as singular they are still in their own section.
Thanks, that got the wheel turning.

No, unfortunately an object can only occur once in an Insight field. There is a request to have that feature added, JSDCLOUD-10790, so I would recommend that you go and add your vote to it.
