Hi, I'm new and trying to explore JSM. I can't change the status and assignee. I'm confused because I'm using an admin account. I also tried to update the Permission settings manually. Do you guys have any idea why?

@Hanna Kris Ko -

Hi Hanna:

You need to ensure that the Admin account that you are using has the following setup -

1) The account is a member of the specific project's Administrators role member.

2) The account has an agent license.

3) The specific project's permission scheme are setup calling out the Administrators role with EDIT issue and Transition Issue permission.

4) You may also need to give the Admin account with your specific project's "ServiceDesk Team" project role.

Hope this helps.

Steps 2 and 4 are key here. To transition issues and be/change the assignee, you need an agent license to JSM (i.e. product access to Jira Service Management) AND assign your account to the Service Desk Team role.
