Hi All,
Right now I've been working if the Jira Service Management has a loan management that can be manage like when the customer is want to loan a device. He need to choose a date and the time and after that the loan management will appear after all of the approvals has been done.
Example:
When a customers raise a request through Jira Service Management Portal it will be 3 approvals:
Approval 1 -> Approval 2 -> Approval 3 -> Wait for Support -> Work in Progress (The time the loan management is telling in assets that the device is loaned until the the end time that user put) -> Closed Request
Currently, it is working for date but how do we can try if we add a time for that also? Like Start Loan Time and End Loan Time. I don't have idea about that.
Hi @Kamarul Ariffin , welcome to the Atlassian Community and thanks for your post.
It's not really clear to me what you you need here.
You already have a device management process implemented in JSM?
You currently have a start / end date for the loan? But instead you want to have a start and end time for the loan?
I think this is change to the type of custom fields you are using for the dates. If you just have a start and end date, these are likely configured as date fields and not date time fields.
Please check out the custom field documentation here for more information.
Is this doesn't help or you have other questions, please write again.
Best wishes
I'm currently working on a loan management system within Jira Service Management for customers to borrow devices. The system currently allows for selecting a loan start date, but you're looking to enhance it to include both start and end times for more precise loan periods.
Current Workflow:
Customer raises a loan request via Jira Service Management portal.
Request undergoes a 3-step approval process: Approval 1 -> Approval 2 -> Approval 3.
Upon all approvals, the request transitions to "Wait for Support".
Support team processes the request, transitioning it to "Work in Progress".
Current Limitation: The system reflects the loan period based on the start date only, lacking time-based granularity.
Upon loan completion, the request is closed.
Desired Enhancement:
Allow customers to specify both a start and end time for their loan requests.
Integrate these time parameters into the loan management system.
Ensure the system accurately reflects the loan period, including both date and time, in the asset tracking.
Questions:
How can we effectively implement time-based loan periods within the existing Jira Service Management workflow?
What are the potential technical challenges and solutions for integrating start and end times into the loan management process?
Are there any available Jira Service Management plugins or custom field configurations that can assist in this implementation?

HI @Kamarul Ariffin , thanks for your comment.
You can manage the loan of devices using automation to generate notifications and reminders for the device loan period.
You would need to check in the marketplace if there are any apps for this. When I search for assets management, I found these options https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?query=assets%20tracking
If you are asking for help in how to build this system, I would say this is something an Atlassian Solution Partner would help with, more than someone building this with you in a post.
Best of luck to you.
Cheers
