Create New linked issue from within an existing Issue

As it is 2019, and the Bug report I found on this is from 2016 with no recent comments, I'm going to ask the question again.

Is it possible to create a New linked Issue from within and issue? I haven't found it, and it is frustrating my team.

If no, is the feature meant to be there?

Hello,

Yes, you can link an issue within an existing issues. Use the link icon:

Yes, I know this one. This links the Issue to another existing Issue.

It is possible only in the Jira Service Desk.

Otherwise you would need a plugin for this feature.
