Customer transition not working

Charlotte Reynolds September 29, 2021

I have a workflow which requires customers to be able to transition the issue on the customer portal.

I have made two transitions visible on the customer portal.

  • Transition A: One end state of the workflow, so I have allowed all statuses to transition to this one. It also therefore has no outgoing statuses.
  • Transition B: this is part of the larger workflow.

However only Transition A works.

With Transition B, the customer receives the following error:

Hi @Charlotte Reynolds

Are there any validators which prevents the customer on making this transition?

Hi @Alex Koxaras _Relational_, there are no validators on either.

I have Proforma installed and when a certain form is submitted it triggers Transition B. However, this is not intended to be an exclusive trigger. The customer should also be able to trigger the transition using this customer facing status on the portal. Could this be related?

If you have an automated transition, then you have to see who is the "actor" who makes this transition. If e.g. the actor is the customer, and the customer doesn't have the necessary permissions to make this transition, then this will fail and you'll get similar message.

And one other thing: Transition B connects two statuses, correct? And you are sure that this transition is triggered and that the connection between old status and new status exist, right?
