Sapir Monza August 21, 2021

I would like to know if Atlassian offers an option to encrypt my Jira data with my own encryption keys?

Thanks

Hello @Sapir Monza ,

This is not currently available in the cloud infrastructure, however, we are tracking interest in a BYOE/BYOK custom encryption key feature at the following feature request:

Please make sure to add your vote to the request to help us track interest per the Implementation of New Features Policy

Hi Earl,

What is the available option to do this in Jira Data Center version? Is that natively supported or is a Plug-in necessary?

Hello @IBM GBS DevOps CoC ,

In general as Data Center is a self-hosted platform it's going to be up to local security admins to audit the system and apply security hardening options and solutions that meet your needs and requirements for security compliance.

We have the following Best Practices for compliance and security guide that is a great starting point:

as well as information on basic obfuscation encryption techniques:

to more advanced encryption options:

There are also various apps in the marketplace that can be used for encryption viewable here:

And below are some additional resources for additional security-related best practices in DataCenter:

Hope this helps

Regards,
Earl
