Does anyone knows how to manage SLA's OLA's and UC (Underpinning contracts) in JSM?

christian_campos November 12, 2024

I am working in a project and the client is looking for the way to manage the underpinning contracts they have.

I was wondering if any of you can helpo me to understand how to manage and configure it in JSM.

Hi @christian_campos

Well, if you are a Project Admin, you go into "Project settings" and there you can see "SLAs". Click on it. There you need to setup your calendar (add the holidays in there) and then create the SLAs you want based on whatever criteria you have. Choose the "pause" statuses, i.e. the SLA clock will stop when issues go into those statuses.

Hello @christian_campos  !

I recommend trying the SLA Time and Report for Jira add-on, developed by my team. With this app, you can easily create and manage SLA's, OLA's and UC. The app simplifies the management process for all your agreements and provides the necessary functionality. You can configure the required conditions, set a work schedule, define SLA goals, set up automated SLA actions, create reports, and manage all your projects in one place.

To start creating SLAs:

1) Install the SLA Time and Report add-on from the Atlassian Marketplace in Jira.

2) Go to the SLA configuration menu to create a new SLA timer or edit an existing one.

3) Click the “+Add new” button to start creating a new SLA config.

4) Select what type of SLA Goal you want to use for a new SLA config. It can be based on a time limit or a negotiated date

5) After that, you can configure other parameters for the new SLA config:

  • Name
  • Project
  • Calendar
  • Start/Pause/Stop conditions
  • SLA Reset
  • Multi-Cycle option
  • SLA Goals settings with automated actions

6) At Start/Stop/Pause conditions, you can choose standard and custom issue fields, which are used by your team for each project.

7) At the SLA goals setting menu, you can specify SLA goals (time limit or negotiated date) and choose the Automate action for exceeded issues:

  • notification;
  • changing reporter;
  • changing priority;
  • changing status.

8) After setting, you need to save all configurations.

That's all!

If you want to create an OLA, you can review the policy on how to configure it.

Also, you can try a 30-day free trial to see if our add-on truly fits your needs.

Let me know if you have any questions about setting it or want more information!
