Hide field without preset value

I have two Elements Connect fields in the customer portal form. One field gets raw data and the second one refines it and displays better (Hofmannsthal, Hugo von instead of ["Hofmannsthal, Hugo von",{"@type":"date","#text":"1874-1929"}]).

I would like not to display the first field as only the second one is relevant to customers.

The problem is that I can't hide it with a preset value as the data is populated dynamically.

Is there any way to hide it (maybe with custom CSS)?

I'd advise you to vote for it to give it some weight and add you as Watcher to be informed of any news. Moreover, please don't hesitate to directly comment it if you want to add any related information.
