Hi All,
I was wondering if someone could help. When emails come through of a status change it appears with the name of someone who no longer works with the company and the normal jira email address. I was wondering if there is an easy way to change this. I have changed the Project lead now to myself and just checked portal settings and can't see where to change this the name of who has changed the status.
Hi Josh,
I believe you are talking about the emails you receive when a ticket is updated, in this case, when the status is updated.
If this isn't being triggered by someone transitioning the ticket, it sounds like maybe an automation is causing the email to trigger. You may have a automation setup to change the status for whatever possible trigger but in the rule details you can set the Actor, who is the "person" performing the change. Usually this is set to Automation for Jira but they could have changed it to a assignee in the system and that is why it's showing their name.

Hi Suzi thanks for the reply,
Right that makes a lot more sense and I have found a rule that says 'comments updates reply status' in automation. However when I click on it and look to edit the automation I can't find anything to do with acting as a specific user. This definitely looks like where the problem lies though.

Hi Josh,
It should be in the initial screen once you open the automation:
