How do I have a comment posted in the ticket for every Approver when they approve or deny?

I have the automation rule set to post a comment to the ticket when an approver approves or denies the ticket.  However, when there are multiple approvers it is posting a comment only for the last person to approve/deny.  Is there a way to set up the automation rule so that a comment is posted for every approver?

Hi @trthomas ,

How do you have setup the automation rule? What is the trigger?

Best regards,

Kris

Hi @trthomas ,

If you have setup your workflow approval step in a way that multiple people need to approve, the automation rule will only be triggered when the last person approves, and the workflow actually transitions to the "Approved" status.

So when the first person approves, the automation rule will not be triggered.

Best regards,

Kris

Hello @Kris Dewachter

Is this a shortcoming on Atlassian's part, that the software is not able to post a comment for each approver when there are multiple approvers?  Or is it that I need to revise the automation rule?

@trthomas ,

I think it was designed this way.

Approvals are stored in the "Approvals" field, so as an alternative, you could set a "Field Value Changed" trigger on your automation rule that checks for changes in this field.
