Amid the pages and pages of very unclear "documentation" is there a clear explanation on how to set up my custom email address to send and receive through a service desk project?
I got my email domain set up in Jira Management, but I keep getting errors when I try to "Connect a custom email account" under Email in a service desk project. It takes way tooo much time to use Atlassian products if you are a small business and don't have a dedicated person to set things up.
Hi @PHC Admin
To send emails as your email domain, go to Project Settings > Summary.
Scroll down, in the bottom right it says notifications. You can edit the email address there.
Note I would recommend verifying your domain and adding DNS Records otherwise you're email firewall may block emails due to to Jira effectively spoofing your email address.
This can be done in Atlassian Administration > Settings > Domains.

Hi Suzi - thanks - but I don't see anything on the bottom right of Project Settings > Summary.
This is what I see on the screen:

@PHC Admin your screenshot shows you are clicked on the details tab. You need to be on the Summary tab.

@PHC Admin Here is the official Atlassian documentation: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/receive-requests-from-an-email-address/ You should look at the add a custom email account section.

Thanks Brant. I managed to add an email address, but now I can't figure out how to use that address to send issue notifications to the customer. It still sends from @myaccount.jira.atlassian or something like that (the one that comes by default). I can't find any documentation that seems to match what I see in the project settings pages.
