How restrict few values in cascading list on a transition?

Hi everyone, I want to restrict some values of cascading field let say 10 options out of 20 on on  a particular transition/ screen, also and error msg should pop up and transition should not succeed when restricted value is selected . How can I achieve this?

You will need to customize your WF and add in "Validators" + create a custom screen and associated to the specific WF transitions.

I wasnt able to do it through validator as it only gave me option for one value and i want to select multiple values. Also add-on is not approved. any other way to do it?
