How to add approval for a single transition, not an entire status?

I want to add an approval step for transitioning from Closed to Open. It looks like I can only add a transition to the open status, but I don't want their to be an approval to always open an issue. Is there a way to add an approval to only the closed -> open status transition?

Hi Brady,

Approvals are basically done on the status itself. So if you want to add an approval step, you would add a new status to the workflow. Then you would put your approval details on that status.

Can you explain how that would work specifically for the Close -> open transition? The way I look at it, if I put an approval step on the Open Status, it would cause an issue when tickets are created in general. Am I wrong and it would only request approval when going from closed to open?
