How to avoid duplicates from object schema, could you please help me?

I have more than 20 to 30 duplicates asset, but I have deleted all duplicates assets.

But I do not know how to prevent that and make sure that the duplicates asset will not come in the future.

Could you please help any one?

Unfortunately, preventing seems to be unavailable. Every Asset is a stand alone object and can have the same name and information in that object.

The only way I can think of is checking if the object exists before creating a new one. However, this will have to be done either manually or through the API. 

How are you creating assets?

Thanks for the reply.

I have changed in attribute configuration like I made the name as unique. 

I want to know if after I did host name is unique then the object con be updated or not itself after running discovery import.
