I've been asked the possibity of creating issues from the portal and from inside Jira. When the ticket was created from the portal in the workflow there is an approval step in one status and the field was approver groups, in the request type I've added the groups values to the approver groups hidden field and that was working.
In the request types I have a form, so I've created the custom fields to link them to the ones that are in the form.
When I create a ticket from Jira clicking on the create button I've tested with the option "Use the request type fields" on and off and the approver groups seems to be empty.
I've created a context to the field and add it default value and didn´t work either. Currently it has 3 contexts.
I don't know what else to do. Should I create another custom field to replace approver groups?
Can you provide a bit more details on your meaning of context? What is the reason to create issue via the project UI using the create issue button?
Please advise, so we can fully understand your issue/ask.

I will send you a screenshot of the context I've created for the field
The reason is because this project is internal so customers are people who work in the company and they're not used to use the portal and create the tickets directly from Jira.

For the IT CAB Approval field what is the data type of this custom field?

IT CAB Approval is the name of the context I've put to the approval groups field.
It sets the project and the issue type I need the default values.

So the default value will be one of those options?

The default value would be the 3 names of groups that appeared there.
I've made a ticket to Atlassian and they solved adding a postfunction in the create transition: The Approver groups of the issue will be set to CIO approvers, CISO approvers, CTO approvers.
And that postfunction solved my problem. Thanks a lot for your help!

Excellent and you are welcome. Can you share the post function setup in your WF at issue creation transition?
