Suppose I created a ticket and later on I realized it the issue was actually on going before the ticket creation date. Then is there any way to update the ticket creation date ?
Sadly no, you can't. You could create a new issue by importing a CSV and setting the date to another date.
OR you could create a custom field to hold the original date too.

No, the created date cannot be changed, that is set when the issue is created and you have no control over that. You could work around it by creating a custom date field that you use as discovery date.
