For example : I am having two single choice field, one is category and other is sub category Field. In category I am having value A,B and in sub category, I am having A1,A2,B1,B2. By default sub category must be empty, If I select A in category, I want to view A1,A2 alone in subcategory or if I select B in category, I want to view B1,B2 in sub category. Is it possible to do in JSM ??

Hi Guru,

If you want to use this for collecting information from the customers in JSM, then you can achieve it easily using JSM form, which is available in JSM cloud.

You can get more details here:

Within Jira, it is not possible out of the box. But using some customization with help of some plugins (like Scriptrunner) you can achieve similar thing within Jira as well.

Or you can use cascading field type in Jira, if that option suits your need.

  1. Go to Settings () > Issues.
  2. From the navigation on the left, select Custom fields.
  3. Select Create custom field in the top-right corner.
  4. Choose Select List (cascading), and then select Next.
  5. Name your field, and add a description if desired.
  6. Select Create

Hi @Melina RAMPERSANDS ,

You can create a new custom field with type Select List (cascading) and create a required context for your JSM project.
